    Default Childcare vouchers

I finally got my CRB clearance today, so just waiting on my certificate. Last week I signed my first contract with a lady who wants before and after school care from September. She's used childcare vouchers at the nursery and asked me if I'd be able to take them, she said it just means I'll get a direct payment into my account from the voucher scheme, then a top-up payment from her. Does anyone else get paid this way?? Is it any different? I presume not, but just wondered if anyone else has used this system?

    Thanks.

I prefer this method of payment and quite a few of my mindees parents pay me this way. The parent will give you a form to fill out with your bank details and registration number - easy peasy!

We have taken Busybees Vouchers before and have just signed up to take Edenred Vouchers. For the Edenred ones the parent emailed me my part of the form, I filled it in on line attached a copy of my Certificate and pressed send.....5 days later I have an account number that I have passed on to the parent. Now each month she taps my acc. no. into her computer and hey presto some money appears in my bank account the very next day simples

All but one of my mindees pay this way!! all from different companys too! Its very easy to register-just ask mum for the details and give them a ring, no messing with cheques and cash-just straight into the bank, only thing is parents sometimes forget to authorise the payments.................

I agree, vouchers are best. As long as parent authorises payment on time!

I am registered with two voucher companies and both work well. One of the children comes for more than the monthly voucher limit (I think it is £243.00) covers, so the parents just do a BACS transfer for whatever that month's balance is.

One of the voucher companies, care-4 is I understand being taken over so I hope there are no hiccups in the transition!!!

You just need to find out which voucher company she's using and register with them - they will usually want to see a copy of your registration certificate.

It's quite straightforward to register and you can have payments paid directly into your bank account. Parents save on tax and NI so they like the scheme too.

I have one parent pay me this way. It covers her entire costs and I like it cos i can guarentee that I am paid. Mum gets paid on the last working day of the month and then I get it in my account 3 working days later.

I registered directly on the kiddicare website when I had an enquiry about it. Was very easy!!!

I get paid by vouchers, mum gives me on a Monday morning and I just log on and claim the vouchers and it's in my bank by Wednesday.

I also get vouchers, one word of warning, purely on a parent front. I have to keep in mind if there is a bank holiday, and remind parents that if there is, I need them to transfer earlier. I got caught at New Year and Easter this year. By the same parent who paid late both times.
I have now sent out newsletters to remind them of my late charge. Haven't had a problem since though
Overall they are excellent, and trackable in the future for tax purposes

No charges - less work - paid into your bank account - no paperwork - usually payment in advance of that months fees

    It is a no brainer

Thanks so much for all the advice, sounds like a good way to be paid! The lady who asked me seemed to think I may be reluctant, I think that's what threw me.

    Thanks again...
    xx
