Thumbs up Red Nose Day 18th March 2011

Although it is two months away it will soon be upon us the way time flies, so how about discussing some fun activities, ways to raise money and things to do?

Catlyn has already posted the link to get free packs for Early Years: http://www.childmindinghelp.co.uk/fo...d.php?p=854878

Let's make it a mass Childminding fun day for a very worthwhile cause!

We're getting very excited here at Little Stars - theres so many great things coming up. Not sure what we're doing for red nose day yet. I know the noses are little monsters or something like that this year so maybe something along those lines

the monster red noses go on sale at sainsburys on 3rd Feb or you can buy a box for £18 deposit on the red nose website (only for schools and early years groups) noses are not recommended for under 3's. Theres also a "monster noses acadamy of fun" on the wesite for older children.

I have done my 'Spring' newsletter today and have talked about red nose day and our plans.....

we are going to have a cake sale.(run over the week)

I'm making a lg cake and decorating it as a clown (red nose, clown get it ha ha) and doing a name the clown cake for £1.00 a go. (run over the week)

I have also devised a quiz and put in questions such as 'How long must you keep your child off after a bout of sickness / diarrhoea' ... 'what do the initials EYFS stand for'.... all of the questions are based on me, my co minder, our assistant, the setting or cm in general. I'm asking for £1.00 for each completed quiz sheet and the winner gets a bottle of wine or a box of chocs.(run over the week)

We are all wearing red for the day as well.

Last year we had a pyjama day and went for a picnic to our local park... we got a few beeps of car horns when 20 of us doned out in Pj's and dressing gowns walked along our busy main road It was good fun and we had our picture in the paper.

We're doing a sponsored toddle, another forum member has organised it.

I've set up a sponsorship page and handed out sponsor forms. My mindee has hypermobility and a few months ago they were uncertain whether she would be able to walk. She is now 20mths and walking very well. It will be lovely to see her toddling.

Cheeky request but would anyone like to be the first to sponsor my daughter and mindee?
