Just received my Childhood Matters and been sat in the garden reading it, on the NEWS page it states:
Do you play music in your childcare setting ? If so
You are required by law to have a Public Performance Licence :
Do you play DVD's or Videos in your childcare setting? If so
The Motion Picture Licensing Corporation Umbrella license is required by law for any organisation who play videos and /or DVD's in Public places inc childcare settings .
Surely this means Nursery, Schools etc and not us ???????

I have read my childhood matters to June - and decided that it does not apply to childminding settings.

In fact a lot of this issue of childhood matters is very setting based (oh apart from that bit about FCCERs on back page)

I think we would be classed as an Educational Establishment for the palying of DVDs and music. As long as it is related to the Ciriculum we follow, EYFS, and there isn't much we can't link in is there?
