Ball painting:

you will need a large tray for each child - or take turns - cat litter trays are ideal (unused of course!)

paper

small containers with different coloured paint

balls of various sizes, i.e. golf ball, marbles etc.

place the paper in the bottom of the tray.

Let the child dip their chosen ball into the paint

Drop the ball into the tray onto the paper and roll it around so that it makes trails on the paper.

Change colours and sizes to add variety to the painting.

Excellent for developing co-ordination skills to manipulate the tray so that the ball rolls around

and an opportunity to talk about sizes and colours
