Muesli Bars

This recipe was included on the British Heart Foundation website from Jayne aged 10

Makes approx. 8 - 10 bars

 

  • 115g (4oz) Polyunsaturated margarine
  • 85 g (3 oz) light soft brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 140g (5 oz) unsweetened swiss-style muesli
  • 85 g (3 oz) roled oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 85 g (3 oz) Raisins

 

Preheat oven to 180 c / 350f / Gas 4.

Grease a shallow 18 cm (7") square cake tin

Put margarine, sugar and syrup in a pan and heat gently until melted. Stirring. Pour onto muesli and mix well.

Stir in cinnamon and raisins

Put mixture into tin and spread evenly. Bake in oven for 20 - 30 minutes until golden.

Cool slighty in tin then mark into bars. When firm, turn out of tin, cut into bars and cool completely on a wire rack.
